OEM coolant hoses are made using EPDM rubber - which degrades over time and due to heat cycling, and have lower working pressure ratings than Samco Silicone hose kits.

Particularly on high performance bikes, or competition machines that have to work at elevated temperatures - running the cooling system at a higher pressure than stock by fitting a high pressure radiator cap, prevents bubbles forming on the cylinder walls and allow for better cooling of the engine. This in turn translates to better engine performance as even if your stock cooling system can maintain 80'C water temperature, the cylinder walls will be cooler with a high pressure system due to better heat transfer into the coolant. To maintain reliability with higher cooling system pressures, use Samco hoses.
