The Ready To Brake Master Cylinder is an evolution of all the existing masters on the market: the passive stroke of the braking process is massively reduced, in all distances, without any adjustment needed, making this Master Cylinder the Most "Ready to Brake" ever. Its Shark Design makes it unique in its style. Its fixing riser, not only it is offset to reduce the movement of the master cylinder during the braking process but it also has a quick release jumper.
The master is Provided with an integrated brake light switch, still keeping a light Weight. Like all the Accossato Radial Brake Master Cylinders, the Ready To Brake Master Cylinder is fully Made in Italy, the screws are made in stainless steel, The bleed valve is in zinced steel and the seals are made with Formula 1 compound.
After selecting suitable brake pads for your application, upgrading your master cylinder is the next logical progression for upgrading your braking system. Selecting a properly sized, radial master cylinder is often the most noticeable improvement, to stock braking systems.
At TBR, we have tested a large variety of master cylinders, from all major brands, with championship winning racers in the UK club circuit scene. Accossato forged master cylinders are used extensively in the UK track and club race scene, with many a championship won.
It's important to select the correct bore and lever ratio, for your application. a larger lever ratio gives a firmer feel with less travel, at the expense of braking force, and vice versa
For road bikes with twin radial calipers, the following general rule can be followed:
Some bikes with axial calipers, suffer from quite severe flex issues and the above rule doesn't always apply - generally we would advice going 1 ratio higher than would be selected for radial calipers
for race and track use, there are more in depth requirements due to heat produced during extreme use - for race use, we strongly advise the CNC billet master cylinder
As with many things in life, there are always exceptions to the rules - if you are unsure and need specific advice please get in touch via the contact page
Note:
Aftermarket master cylinders use a different thread pitch banjo bolt, to OEM master cylinders, remember to add one to your order if needed!
